Sound quality and noise cancelling is great. Ambient sound is good. But they're uncomfortable to wear. After only 10 minutes they start hurting on the head strap and after 30 mins they also start to feel uncomfortable on the ears. Considering the price, I expected to be able to wear them all day and still be comfortable.

Die Klangqualität ist super, balanciert und das NC funktioniert recht gut. Das einzige Manko m.M.n. ist, dass die Konstruktion und die verwendeten Materialien sich etwas hochwertiger anfühlen könnten. Die Kopfhörer sind zwar ein leichtgewicht, aber einige stabilere Elemente (Bügelteile aus Metall) würden die gefühlte Qualität erhöhen.

This is my 4th set of Sony headphones throughout the years and in terms of sound quality they are the best yet. I use headphones mostly for TV and movies at night and for music. The XM5’s are a good all rounder and are comfortable for longer periods than my previous headphones. Got them for a bargain price and hopefully they will last a good few years until the XM6’s are heavily discounted as well. Great buy.

Headphones are great customer service is a JOKE. Case for the headphones broke on first use. Sent an email to customer support, they accused me of being heavy handed and said I had misused the product. Don’t know how if the zip broke on first use. Basically refused to handle my complaint. Will never buy a Sony product again. From other reviews this is clearly how Sony operate.

Very good. I upgraded from the older 510 series headphones that have no noise cancellation. The NC on the XM5 is excellent and just what I wanted. Minus points - occasionally the band hurts the top of my head and I have to move it after a while. The mechanism - this is well documented and not a major issue as I knew about this when I bought them - but the lack of being able to fold them up is annoying- turn in to fold onto your chest would suffice but they only fold OUTWARDS! So they clasp your neck like a winter jumper. Come on Sony, do better. Sound quality is good, and I look forward to using them each time.

I've had these headphones for around three weeks now. Bought these, as fed up with pods falling out. Great clarity of sound and suitably solid bass, which I like. Online reviews suggested they would be better than Bose and very pleased I made the choice I did. Great value for money, as price was discounted and I have a Blue Light card. I would definitely recommend these headphones.

Toller Preis für gute Kopfhörer

Ich habe diese Kopfhörer schon einmal bessesen, habe sie aber dann gegen das neue Modell XM6 eingetauscht und obwohl ich den EQ sowohl in der Sony App wie auch in der App auf dem Smartphone genauso wie bei den XM5 eingestellt habe, war ich vom Soundbild der XM6 enttäuscht. Ich habe diese dann wieder verkauft und mir erstmal andere gekauft mit denen ich eigentlich zufrieden war. Jedoch störte mich, dass ich wegen der fehlenden aptX-Unterstützung immer ein Dac am Smartphone anbringen musste. Das Problem hat man mit Sony Kopfhörern nicht, da Samsung einen automatischen LDAC-Support hat und höher geht es derzeit ohne Dac nicht. Von daher habe ich mir wieder die XM5er geholt. Hinzu kommt, dass ich meine Musikdateien im ALAC-Format (Apple Lossless) habe und da möchte ich die bestmögliche Audioqualität, die über Bluetooth möglich ist. Aufgrund eines Angebotes auf der Sony-Webseite habe ich mir die XM5SA für knapp 180 € geholt. Ob man jetzt damit leben kann, dass man keine geschützte Tasche hat, bleibt jedem selbst überlassen aber bei dem Preis habe ich nicht großartig überlegen müssen. Das ANC ist gut, aber nicht besonders, da ich dennoch viel von der Aussenwelt wahrnehme. Wegen des geringen Gewichts stören sie kaum bis gar nicht und wenn es wieder wärmer wird, kann ich locker die Sony Linkbuds Fit benutzen.

J'ai acheté ce produit pour m'aider dans mes études à la bibliothèque, car la réduction du bruit est présentée comme l'une des meilleures du marché, etc. Je n'ai pas trouvé la réduction du bruit si exceptionnelle que ça et j'ai finalement été assez déçue. J'ai décidé de garder le produit pour d'autres raisons, comme le son et le confort, qui sont vraiment excellents et bien meilleurs que ceux d'autres casques haut de gamme.

O cancelamento do ruído exterior é excelente e a definição sonora é soberba. Com a idade a minha audição piorou e tinha dificuldade em seguir na TV os noticiários e principalmente os painéis de opinião. Com estes auscultadores percebo nitidamente todos os diálogos e senti-me rejuvenescer uns bons 20 anos.

It’s been 2weeks now since I received this product and been using it everyday. I download the app to modify the what I want like noise cancellation, ambiance sound etc. what I notice is if I put it in noise cancellation later on it will automatically go back to ambiance sound. I don’t know how to cancel this automatic feature but it’s bothering me. Then I tried it on messanger on call, at first test their feedback was like they will not notice that I am using the headset because my voice is clear then after that 2weeks later other say’s they can’t understand me because they felt like my voice is inside the can or it’s not even clear. I tried to record my voice using this headset and I was in the bus that time and because of this feature of noise cancellation and ambiance sound that you can’t control as it keep on transferring to automatic ambiance then while on recording I notice that my voice is not clear, even the bus noise was recorded and hardly to understand my words. When it comes to music.. I am enjoying it. The bass and overall can be balance. It’s perfect when playing music but other than that. I can’t.

Bought mine August 2024. I work from home, so I thought these would be excellent to block out some noise. I got a year and a half out of them before they broke. Pros: Noise-cancelling technology, weight, sound, clamping pressure. Cons: Six months before my extended warranty expired, my headset snapped. If you look at the extendable arms, there is a horizontal line where the ear cup can swivel. Just under this line is a piece of angled plastic (with the Sony name printed on it) that connects to the cup itself. This bit is where my product broke. All I was doing was taking them off my head like a normal person. Two hands, slightly open them, and take them off. I have a small head, so I am on the smallest adjustment of the headset, and they don't need to open far for them to come on and off. I heard a snap as I took them off, only to be met with a nasty crack that destroyed the ear clamping potential. The sound was still working fine, but the product had instantly become useless with the snap. I sent in a support email with a picture of the snap. I was told: "Kindly note that this is considered a physical damage that voids the warranty terms and conditions. Therefore, we can only proceed with a chargeable service." This is a physical issue with the design. With enough time and pressure, that angled piece of plastic has a hard time dealing with normal daily stress, and ends up snapping. I know this after visiting several forums, seeing my EXACT same crack on many other customer headsets. I don't actually travel with this headset at all, since I work from home. This headset is taken off, and set into its case on my side table each and every day. It lives a very boring life. I don't take it off with one hand and slap it around like a pool noodle. I thought I'd have a better experience with support, but the response I received only reinforced every negative comment about Sony in the forums over this same structural problem. It's quite disheartening to see so many others with my same issue. It's irritating that this isn't classified as a known issue, either. I didn't even get two years with these things. On top of that, I had swapped from Bose TO Sony for noise-cancelling. This product is far too expensive and lacks the structural integrity of daily use for me to want to purchase from this line or brand again.

Ho comprato queste cuffie un paio di settimane fa, ma le ho già usate per molte ore di riproduzione, tanto in casa quanto all'esterno. Ottima qualità del suono e grande comodità nell'utilizzo, anche prolungato. L'unico miglioramento che mi sento di suggerire riguarda l'ampiezza dell'archetto. Sarebbe utile poterlo stringere di più in particolare quando si pratica sport. Comunque super consigliate

Once you get used to connecting them via bluetooth, they work fine. A lot of features to get used to. Never owned headphones before so not able to compare them. I do find them a little uncomfortable to wear as I have spectacles.

Twee weken geleden gekocht. Super blij mee. Vorige model was een Sony WH-XB900N van 6 jaar oud. Nu toch voor het top model gegaan. En de noise cacelling is zoveel beter. En hij zit ook echt beter op je hoofd. Kortom een dikke aanrader.

J’ai acheté le casque au mois de janvier, j’ai attendu 4 jr pour la livraison, les points négatifs c’est l’assez non pliable du casque, matière utilisée est vite salissant, à voir la qualité de la matière avec le temps , sinon pour le son , on étend clairement , il y’a plusieurs fonctions mais la réduction du bruit n’a pas encore convaincu, je donnerai 6/10 pour la réduction de bruit , donc à voir avec les temps, sinon c’est confortable, tiens chaud pendant l’hiver , je reviendrai au bout de 3 mois d’utilisation pour donner un avis complet

Ce casque Sony répond totalement à mes attentes. Le son est magnifique, on entend chaque note avec une clarté exceptionnelle. Les critiques des sites spécialisés sont totalement justifiées. La réduction de bruit est hyper efficace. La connectivité est très intuitive. La boîte de transport grise avec range câbles est très belle également et bien conçue. Je suis très très content de mon achat.

Die Kopfhörer sind absolut amazing. Das Noise Cancelling ist wirklich unglaublich und hat mir als Stadtbewohnerin wahrscheinlich ein paar zusätzliche entspannte Jahre geschenkt. Plötzlich existiert die Geräuschkulisse einfach nicht mehr. Kein Verkehr, keine Baustelle, kein innerer Stress. Nur ich und meine Musik. Ehrlich gesagt ein kleiner Gamechanger. Der Klang ist gleichzeitig so gut, dass ich beim ersten Musikhören dachte, sie wären kaputt. Das Lied hat gerauscht und geknackt und ich war kurz irritiert. Nach ein paar Tests wurde aber klar: Nicht die Kopfhörer sind das Problem, sie sind nur so gut, dass man plötzlich die schlechte Upload-Qualität der Musik hört. Dinge, die ich vorher nie wahrgenommen habe. Also: wirklich ein Top-Gerät. Ein kleines Manko gibt es trotzdem: Sie sind sensibel. Natürlich möchte man sie jetzt überallhin mitnehmen, aber leichter Nieselregen ist schon ein Risiko, und starker Wind kann, die Noise-Cancelling- oder Sprechfunktion beeinträchtigen. Das sind also eher Kopfhörer für Menschen, die Technik auch ein bisschen wertschätzen und drauf aufpassen. Trotzdem liebe ich sie. Sie haben meinen Alltag wirklich verändert.
